The Blacklists’s Liz & Red – What’s The Connection Between?

“Good Lord, I just hope he isn’t her father,” is what I suspect MOST of The Blacklist fans are thinking and saying. I know I am. After all, what other reason could there be for Red to take a liking to her, only work with her, and go out of his way to expose her husband as a fraud? Despite last week’s episode, can I at least suspect we are all in agreement that Tom is a shady MOFO. I don’t care what he says, I don’t buy it. How or why would he have just been looking under the dining room rug and found the secret hatch unless he put it there? HMMM TOM??? Explain that one buddy! Oh, and Miss “I’m an FBI Agent but not really” Lizzie, what didn’t you ask him that?

Sorry, I digress from the topic… Red and Lizzie. Red’s concern for her seems like it extends pretty far. It’s a very odd tennis match that they play with each other and I think goes on like it does because Lizzie has feelings for him. Not saying its a romantic one, but she certainly runs to him a lot for just about everything. Yet, the second he does something that reiterates his criminal status, she chastises him and runs away. Sounds like a parent/child relationship, doesn’t it?

Red is supposed to be this bad ass criminal master mind, yet they were sitting on the steps together (or was it bench, I forget) and Li9z holds his hand for comfort… She clearly doesn’t know why, but (and god help me for the metaphor) she goes to him like a moth to a flame. Of course you’ll get burnt dummy, its fire, and Lizzie is knee deep in the pit with a match.

Of course, the mystery of Red isn’t the only thing I am curious about. It’s fairly clear the other agents have secrets. Those, however, I can wait to watch unfold as the season progresses. But the mystery bugging me the most, the one I want to know now… why does Red have such an affection for Liz. Anyone know? Anyone? Bueller… Bueller…
